You may be right Dan. I've not made any crumble yet but there's enough ready to make one this weekend.
I went and took another photo this morning when the rain had stopped. It was easier than trying to turn the other one round and looked nicer as the sun had come out.

How long do rhubarb plants live for , the reason I ask is my mother moved house around three years ago she told me to take any plants I wanted as she was moving into a flat, I dug up the rhubarb and moved it to our plot it's the same plants my dad had when I was a child they must be over 50 years old

Robo, rhubarb will live pretty much forever, as the crown decides itself, older sections may die off, but will be replaced by new. As Lon as there is space and enough light and nutrients, it'll just keep going... Sometime it'll form a ring, where the soil in the middle cant sustain the growth, so only the outer sections of the plant grow
