I too hate the idea (and the actuality) of being ripped off. Having said that, and at the risk of sounding like a wet blanket, I do hope that your kitchen scales can be verified as being completely accurate. I have no idea what sort of tolerances the makers of scales allow in their accuracy, and 193g would be within a 4% accuracy.
I only raise this as I know that some commonly used items on which we depend, such as speedometers in cars, have a degree of inaccuracy as the norm. When my SatNav shows a speed of 30mph, which I assume is pretty accurate as it is calculated from GPS, the car speedo shows 28mph, roughly a 7% discrepancy. Do domestic kitchen scales suffer the same problem?
