You have a good point, I find it very difficult to relax. If I'm not doing something productive I feel like a complete waster.

Once I get in the van with my dog I relax, away from home.

I agree, it is hard to not be always doing stuff, when there is so much on the 'to do' list. I am the same. But sometimes, you just need to stop and take some time for yourself, and try not to feel too guilty about it. Some folk spend every evening on the sofa, and most of the day too!

Says she who has just spent the two hours after work wrapping 50 bars of soap for the craft fair on Sunday. I may force myself to watch some telly now!

Its not an obsession and OCD has been mentioned by others. I get a feeling of satisfaction by producing something at the end of day, doing nothing means that all those jobs that need doing get left to stack-up.

I sometimes drive to the beach then just sit in my van and read the paper, walk the dog. I'm ok with that but if I'm home I have to be poorly to be doing nothing.

Wall lights are nearly up, grass cutting later if the ground isn't still to sodden. Maybe get that big Kawasaki brushcutter going. Its that time of year when I want to know all my machines are going to start.

Probably why I don't put on weight.

I'm never happier than when i keep busy, i love doing sixteen hours aday, severn days a week in the Summer. But so saying that, i certainly wouldn't expect anyone else to do the same. Everyone has a different outlook on life.

I'm always up early, just incase i miss something, but i think i have mentioned this many times before.

Hope your craft fair goes well Retropants, i don't think i would have the confidence to be able to be behind a stall selling to the public!

This is also me, sadly I don't have a decent day in me any longer. My re-surfaced hips joints whilst giving me a good range of movement get very sore after a short time on my legs and I get tired. I still get up at 5.30 in the morning but its not unusual for me to be in bed at 6-ish, just to get off my legs.

I did start to get into a sort-of mini-depressive state over my loss but I'm still more active than most people I know and those half my years.

And, its my home. I love this place, but I like it tidy. When I come back from a two weeks tour in our motorhome the old barn looks abandoned because of the grown vegetation. Right now our utility building which is shed and the size of a small house has green algae on the roof and two walls because I didn't get around to dealing with it last year. I hate it when it looks like that, the barn is all sparkling white at the front but starting to discolour round the back. Bird-shit and algae are the main causes but only become a problem if you stop the annual washing-down and painting sessions.

I'm looking forward to a delivery of larch from the down in the valley where they are clearing a forest so that'll keep me busy during the summer, cutting and stacking.

I did notice those boys only work about five hours a day, youngsters eh ?

Well that's another hard days work digging,it has been another lovely spring day. All the digging I done last week has dried out lovely, it will be just right for the rotavator next week to give it a good tilth ready for setting.

Evening Codger, thank you for finishing the fire off, it was a lovely surprise when i popped back to tidy up, and it was all done.

Not sure about the rotovator, but you might need a snow shovel yet!

That's quite alright OH I don't mind helping the old ones out,I know you have had a hard day with your building project.

An afternoon at the allotment and dry enough to dig for the first time this winter (discreetly jumped up and down shouting yes, yes yes, behind the shed!! )
So much to catch up with now...

What a lovely day I have rotavated two plots and they have dried off a treat , one plot left to do which I dug last week . I can set shallots and onion sets next week.its a lovely feeling when you walk in the gate and see them all ready for planting, I'm sure O.H will make some comment when he sees them, that will make him get his finger out and catch up with me.

I had so much planned for today, but got held up all afternoon with visitors.
I know i shouldn't moan about having so many, very good friends coming round, but i wish they would visit on wet days.....

I suppose that is a real bonus for Codger, having just one friend, that is.
But there is even a down-side to that, because it's me.

Forgot to say, had the mower out this morning and cut the allotment paths, i wonder if Clive has been making hay today!
