I'm still lurking about.... Tending to be at work at least part of every day...and quite often work e-things at home in the evening...
We had some filming going on the other night...arrived home at 2:50 am
https://twitter.com/PleasureIslFilm Today a wedding and reception is in progress...and the newly refurbished holiday cottage has its first guests.... so plenty going on. I have been doing various jobs this morning including finding washers for a cake stand......and will be back later.
Our very small garden team has been augmented by a sesonal member of staff, a young lady who has just completed studies at Askham-Bryan college.

... won the best student on her course and also the College Principles prize. A previous winner of this prize was a Mr Geoffrey Smith.!
.....and tomorrow is NGS open day.
Clive.

I'm still here, but not doing much.
I went to see the consultant last Thursday, and I am going in for Angioplasty on Tuesday morning at 9am.
Hopefully, after that I shall be stented up, and I can then start to get back to speed on the allotment
I'm getting very fed up with having no energy all the time.
I've got some lovely weeds on the plots though

I have just returned from a two week holiday in France..
Went to the allotment today....can that many weeds grow without any water for that amount of time

Hi all,
Many thanks for the nice messages
It's not good news I'm afraid. The angiogram showed a lot of dodgy areas. Far too much for just a stent or three!
The consultant is having a video conference meeting on Thursday, with some other consultants and the surgeon at St. Thomas's in London to discuss my case.
It looks very much like a bypass operation for me
Bit of a shock to the system, but that's the hand I've been dealt, so I have to get on with it.
Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for the op, and can spend the long winter months recuperating, and will be able to get back to some allotmenteering.
I'll probably give up the big plot, and just keep the half plot and polytunnel plots.
It's all good fun this getting old isn't it

I don't know you at all, but bypass operations are very common nowadays.
My Father In Law had one some years ago and still climbs his apple tree for pruning.
Best wishes, Ron.

Hi PJ,
Please don't be down cast about having to have the operation. It is good news that they have found you need this now and not when you have a stroke or heart attack. You will have time to recover through the winter and be ready for the next spring when you will burst onto the garden and be a fit as a fiddle.

Hi PJ,
Sorry to hear that you couldn't be done and dusted on Tuesday, but they have the technology and they can rebuild you... Hope all goes well and they do the op quickly for you.
Best wishes

Hi, PJ,
Sorry to read about your results, shame they couldn't sort you out there and then.
Hope you hear soon about when the op. will be and sure you will make a speedy recovery, as you said you have all winter to take things slowly ready for a new growing year
