Wow, truely inspirational.
Do you have shares in the bean cane business

Thanks for your kind comments. Yes canes are a bit OTT this year. Trying Moonlight beans without complete trust so row of 90 is half them and half my usual Red Flame. Then there is the usual 96 Sweet Peas row. My wife decided she wanted to try Alderman peas so there is a row of old canes that don't quite make the length for the main rows supporting those. There are some Sugar Snaps as well but I don't think you can spot those.
So come on you (al) lot (menteers) where are the pictures Peter asked you for?

I'm too embarrassed to post any pics.
First it was too dry to plant, then it was too wet, then it was too hot, then it was too wet again (reminds me of a joke about farmers, but I'll save that for another time

).
For the first time in over 12 years, I'm fighting a losing battle. All I can say is that my weeds are doing very well.

I'll risk being lynched for saying it Mouse 'cos we all do it and blame the weeds, but if the weeds are growing then so should your veggies,
I'm sure there are other factors involved here.

You're looking good, donedigging.
Evening Mouse, Beryl is right, if the weeds are growing the plants should be too.
But, and this is a very big but, there are indeed a lot of factors to take into account.
Weed seeds can sit in the ground for a long time without coming to any harm. Then make good growth even when conditions are not that favourable.
Then we have to try and plant and sow when time allows, so sometimes we are busy when conditions are good and we miss this slot, but the weeds just keep growing.
I think we have all been there at some point in our gardening lives, so don't lose heart.
If it makes you feel a little better, i found three weeds on one of my allotments this afternoon, but don't tell anyone.
