Hi NB,
I was taught by my grandfather the saying "If you look after the soil then the soil will in turn look after you" he added "and never ever forget that!"
That was in 1935 (circa) and I have never forgotten it and I have passed that on to my children who have in turn passed it on to their children.
I have no doubt that my grandchildren will again pass it on.
It is so true.

Yes so very true Johnboy, we can add to the soil with rich compost etc or deplete it , future generations will need it too so important to conserve it!
