Hail storms here too and no let up in the cold either. My earlies are under black plastic anyways.

Poet OH ! You could perhaps rig up an umbrella attached to yer belt OH , or erect a see through tent to work in ? Like me itchy gardening fingers huh?
Another wet and windy day here too - this is the weirdest drought I have experienced. Water is laying puddled in the fields, one of my pots is waterlogged, needs attention, but too heavy to lift and my partner has a bad back, oh well ! On the bright side glad I have raised beds and the new plants will settle in well, lol. A friend and I went to a nursery yesterday, did the ladies who lunch thing,( excellent cook there ), and encouraged each other to splurge! I am a proud owner of a new dwarf peach tree with the prettiest pink blossom which will go in a large pot in a sheltered spot, and they had a wonderful selection of natural and italian seeds which always seem to do well. My Tamarillo was looking depleted after winter but is sprouting a mass of its lovely heart shaped leaves again so am looking forward to some fruit from it, I think i will bring it indoors next winter ! Picking some wonderful radish between heavy showers - at least they like the weather ! April is certainly living up to its reputation !
