Morning all glad everyone had such a good day yesterday. Sounds like poor old John English got the worst weather yesterday, hopefully it will be better for you today John. Bet you don't need a scarecrow on your allotment when you have got your shorts on Tigger. Zenna live about twelve miles west of Wooton, in the posher part of Beds. HO HO. So keep guessing. It was nice to see what everyone was at all over the country. Hope you all have another great day.
Kind regards a cheeky, happy Old Herbaceous.
We will always get some weather.

A nice day here, started with delivery of cabbage etc. to Pengethly Farm Shop. They were very busy stocking up for what should be their busiest weekend of the year but were grateful for our small contribution of cabbages etc. First picking of a new mint was taken in, later checked, the name given us was m. cordifolia. lots of websearch indecisive but synonymous with Spicata, viridis, longifolia.
A nice visit to Premier GC en route, a good line in nice growbags for strawberries at £1.25, will be back for more.
We spent the rest of day working on reinstatement of the second polytunnel which has had no cover for 2 years. Managed to clear out all the sacks of mud from trench, been there far too long as a 'temporary' measure and most had to be broken up with trowel. Very heavy work, next time it will be bags of gravel. One learns. Early bed.

Posher than Wootton, Old H? Impossible! with the delightful smells wafting across from Brogborough landfill and the magnificent views of Stewartby brickworks?! You must be mistaken!
Is there a hospice in your village ??

No Zena there is not a hospice in our village, are you trying to say i might need one? Theres just me surrounded by a load of posh people, but they all love me. Keep guessing.
Kind regards a mysterious Old Herbaceous.

P.S been busy planting out cabbage and cauli and also putting up bean sticks, thanks to Jenny Green.

No such suggstion intended, Old H., I was just trying to think of posh villages with a "big house".
I'll go and plant some herbs instead.....

Fantastic day here in Chester (Sat.)
Husband, daughter and grandaughter away at climbing club hut in Snowdonia until tomorrow afternoon, so I've been totally free for first time in months and months. Got absolutely loads done and then came home to a tidy, quiet house, a pre-prepared casserole, home grown rhubarb crumble and a bottle of wine (only half gone so far.....the wine, not me....quite!) Mmmmmmmm, life can be very, very good.

Saturday misty, then muggy here, sun appeared circa 15:30 through hazy cloud.
Got up late, such luxury.
Cut hedge, mowed lawn, sorted two small flower beds, emptied compost bin from garden to allotment, rotovated manure into the "other veg" area, rotovated between potato rows, dug up enough raspberries from old plot to complete last two 15' rows on fruit terrace, home in time for quick bath & Dr Who.
Ten year old daughter suggests we move sofa from rear wall of living room to just in front of TV as wife and I are both a bit larger than when we last hid behind the sofa from the Cybermen.
