I have to be very careful how I say this! My wife felt the earth move last night. She was in the kitchen making chocolates. I had gone to bed early (for me) as I had an early start today.
Merry Christmas

This is the heaviest snow I have seen in ten years of living in Somerset, it probably peaked at 8 inches or more before the very slow thaw started, I like OH scraped back the snow and found the ground completely unfrozen, I was therefore like him able to get a few parsnips dug, which will be on the table Christmas Day, I was lucky to have spread all my muck and rough dug the plot before this weather started so am now hoping for lots more frost to break it all up. I find what nature gets on with is fascinating.

Just had my old mate, the swearing Irishman round, he always calls round Christmas Eve afternoon for a chat.
Well he just came out with a statement that made me smile.
He was talking about survival skills in the snow, he said he had seen a survival documentary where a bloke would catch, kill, skin, gut and then eat the animal alive.
And who said miracles no longer happen.

On a more serious note, has anyone heard anything from Nature's Babe, as i've noticed she hasn't been on the forum for a while.
I did send her a P.M, but this hasn't been picked up.

Dear OH, you are always so thoughtful to others. I hope NB is well, hopefully she is just busy with her family at this time.

Dear Elle, i'm not the only thoughtful one on here!
Yes Elle, let's hope it's something simple like that.

It isn't only N.B.who is missing, quite a few of our regular contributors over the last 12 to 18 months seem to have gone walkabout. It may be that they pop in but have nothing to add.
Thaw well and truly set in in my neck of the woods, rain and a rise in temperature has been the catalyst, only bits and pieces of the hard-packed ice on the roads and pavements remaining.

Hi Board,
Can anyone suggest a well known chain that supply well made wheelbarrows?
Thanks!

springtime. Suggest any good builders yard, you might pay a bit more, but will last most plot holders donkeys years.

Haemmerlin Polypropylene Green Wheelbarrow - 90L
Got myself one of these yesterday at my local builders merchants - £44.50
Also available in pink and purple (too "girly" for me

)

Thank you for your kind thoughts Kevin.
Actually my new, head turning, wheelbarrow, is a top of the range Haemmerlin, shiny galvernised bodied model, (handy for the old girls to see to touch their make up in),

and cost me a staggering £65.
But worth every penny.

Evening Alan and O.H.,
Hope that you bought your barrows before the swingeing V.A.T.rise was imposed.
