Morning all,
Another bright sunny day here. Apparently we will have some rain on saturday, although I'll believe it when I see it

I can't remember where I came by the link originally.?
Perhaps posted previously on here by a n other.
.....it is certainly looking interesting storm wise down your way at the moment.
I have noticed that not every event shows up...as the other week we had a storm one evening and it was not far away either....I was counting
..but not a sign showed up on the website
Clive.

Here's another storm link
http://www.morecambe-weather.info/index.aspYou have to select Thunderstorms and Triangulated UK - can't make it save the full link.

We got a beauty storm down here - Great lightning
and really loud thunder - and lots and lots of rain.
Was amazing as it was lightning going across the sky
as well as down.
I'm guessing over an inch of rain so won't have to
water for a couple of days, but my soil is so sandy
it drains really quick so will still need to monitor it -
and sharpen the hoe for the inevitable rush of weeds

Morning everyone. We had a great day on the allotment yesterday and actually got done all the jobs we had planned....gotta be a first! Mind, we worked pretty fast as it looked like rain and I had lots of soft fruit to harvest, Ken, my husband, had brassicas to plant and spuds to put in a tub. He also had some digging to do, which was hard work as the soil is so dry despite the rain we had. It was warm and muggy so several cups of tea were in order... the making of said tea not left to me for a change

(sorry dear, you're "outed") I picked what seemed like tons of blackcurrants with at least the same amount yet to ripen, a huge amount of red currants (and some goosegobs...enough for a nice pie! ) Fruit picked, I turned my attention to the two greenhouses and tied up the toms (poor devils) and added more supports for the cucumbers. Ken had a right good tidy up session and it looks a treat now. So, today is a day of rest for Ken, as he is a long distance HGV driver and has to be up at daft o'clock tomorrow (3am)

Me? I'm going to turn a lot of said blackcurrants (haven't weighed them yet) into jam... and possibly a couple of pies,( if I can be bothered!!) Dunno about the reds, considered making redcurrant jelly but I haven't got a jelly bag or stand...maybe more jam? any suggestions folks? We had a good evening out last night too, at our local Social club. Good company, a few bevvies,

good artist and my friend and I danced our feet off!

Excellent day all told!!

Cheers.
