Morning OH
So would I. There are 16 at the moment, and one of them is listed as "Viewing User Control Panel", which ain't possible unless logged in. At other times they have been listed as "Replying to topic in...", which is also impossible.
Are they spies, hackers or what?

Good morning Alan & OH,
Perhaps they show as a guest if they keep their ID hidden on the profile

No, in that case they show as "Hidden".

Alan
a possible explanation: A stats timing issue.
1. user logs in add 1 to registered users in stats
2. user browses a profile - add to stats
3 user starts a reply - record this in stats
4 user is timed-out before completing reply or any other browse action - registered user count reduced by one but other stats not changed at that time.
You would need to read the security logs for the site to find the axact explanation. Perhaps admin should look at this to check ther aren't people bypassing the system.

Maybe overseas visitors my blog and website stats often show people visiting in what to us is the middle of the night but they show as from Australia or Malaysia etc
Just seen there are 26 guests at the moment and just me and Goggle Bot as registered

I noticed the numbers had suddenly jumped up on a regular basis, about a fortnight ago.

I must admit that some mornings I am running late so don't bother logging in, so I would be recognised as a guest

Can't account for the others

Dear Donedigging, you are always welcome, even if just as a guest.

Dear OH,
Thank you
I may be a guest in the morning,
but one thing I do know it will be dark and cold

Indeed, it is dark and cold, i suppose that's something we have got to get used to for a few months.

On the way to the allotment I stopped off at the local park to collect and bag up leaves to make leafmould.A couple of adults remarked"Collecting leaves,eh?"but a young lad asked me," why?Was I cleaning the park".I explained that leaves were full of goodness and that I was making a special "earth"from them called leafmould so that I can grow seeds and plants with it by adding it to other stuff(kids understand "stuff"

)"You're not cleaning the park then"was his reply and off he went.Well,he was only three or four years old,the age of innocence!

Luckily I wasn't challenged when I was out sweeping the road this morning with the same objective. Tied a pallet onto wheelbarrow then filled a builders tonne bag with Oak and Beech leaves. Raked some of my own so I'm up to 2½ bags, aiming for 4.
Spent much of the rest of the day cleaning and repairing all my nest boxes. I hope the birds appreciate how much work goes into their community housing scheme.
