Blowing strongly here too, I was in the greenhouse digging in manure(or dung as they call it round here), hot work under glass.

But once we get tomorrow out of the way, Friday is going to be very Spring like and then we will forget all about the bad weather.....well, for a couple of days anyway, then the next lot of wind, rain and snow arrives...

Batten down the hatches odin is sending the winds at least to our neck of the woods, time to get my kite out of the attic

Just received two adverts one from Marshall's, one from Unwins, would you believe it. Both offering the same bush. Blueberry Blue-gold, both the same price. £12,99. Now if I was a cynic, I would say they are the same Company.

Are they both "The cheapest online" - I've only got the Marshall's version? They are cheaper on eBay but I haven't compared the sizes.

Any thoughts of gardening on hold today, rain turning to sleet as I look out the window and coming in sideways in the strong winds.

I have been dodging branches at work this morning....people are strange, walking back up the village a while back, there was one of the extra large wheelie bins in the middle of the road, people had been driving up the verge to get round it. Then got back home and the neighbours front fence was in the road, and the same thing, no one had moved it, but just drove up and over the verge to get round......i find that most weird...oh yes, i did move the bin and fencing.

Well done. You'll probably see two Council wagons turn up and half a dozen workers get out and start scratching their heads about the middle of next week as somebody has reported debris on the road and they can't find any.
It's not as bad here as it was on Tuesday.

Just had to smile to myself, i was working in the greenhouse when i saw something flash past the gap in the hedge....It was my wonderful ninety something neighbour, Hazel, putting chase after some escaped paper ....she really is the most amazing person.

Such a lovely day I've been doing some of my long awaited photo index. Liked this one of the protective value of fleece from April 2008 - I can't remember what was under it.

Pretty gusty here. We have had wheelie bins overturned and blown down the driveway and one fence panel has been ripped out.

We have a very anti social large lleyandi conifer in a neighbour!s garden nearby which cuts out so much light and sunshine and every time we have gales I put the "fluence" on it and pray the wind will fell it as its owners refuse to cut it back despite the annoyance it causes. Alas it has stayed as firmly rooted as the Rock of Gibraltar !

It's official we have had a weather bomb today whatever that is ,our gazebo down the plot has gone even though I had reinforced all around the top with 6 x 1 inch timber and braced the corners one end was fixed to the shed thankfully that's ok

It's lovely here today 1°C and bright sunshine. I've been clearing bits of tree off the paths and retrieving the lids off the compost heaps but no real damage were fairly sheltered here and only got 40 mph gusts over the past two days. The heavy rain yesterday filled the pond up well though.

Just thought Primrose, I once accidentally set fire to a large conifer when I was using the flame gun on some dead grass near it. It went up so fast that it was already a charred trunk by the time I got the hose pipe out. Quite spectacular!

Cutting up a wonderful old Sycamore tree at the Big House today, as it succumbed to the gales yesterday, such a shame.....but it did get it's own back, as it fell into the dell and it's all got to be carried out by hand.
