Mud, puddles & mud here. Throw a ball for the dogs and they render their undercarriage with mud. So much for planting potatoes just after St Patrick's day. :(

The Irish and the English can spend St Patrick's Day crying into their stout and beer together, not much point being outside with another overnight dump of white stuff.

:D 50% cloud and 6 degrees with the promise of 10 degrees later. Our next few days are forecast as dry with similar temperatures and i'm having to open my greenhouse tent daily in case the sun pops out.

As I type a lone cloud in an almost clear sky it dropping it's contents.

More planting trench work today, you only get out of it what you put into it, yes ?

Mostly.

Oh-yes, and, thanks Alan. What a game.

I just smeared some factor 15 on my bald head and stripped down to pants and a thick shirt.

Clive, I love that machine. That is the sort of machine my ride-on is, even got the same paint job. No plastic just simple mechanics and a perfect size. A local dealer had one for sale that looked similar but it was too big and I don't trust this bloke.

Fantastic.

Dry here so far today :)

Much too wet to work on the plot though. Shifted some horse manure from the new lot just delivered. Other than that, it was drinking coffee in the polytunnel with other like minded plotters :D

tis here.... spring has definatly arrived.... we had roast pork for lunch, a few scraps to go into the cat's dish in the back porch, opened the back door and on the doormat was a small rabbit skin and odd bits of innards. first one of the new seasons crop.

Funny you should mention young rabbits, Richard, a doe has dug a huge, long burrow in the front border, and i would say this is to have young.
She sat in the opposite border and i literally had to shoo her away.
I have covered the burrow, but i bet she will dig another.

Snow again this morning, too, though the day turned out quite pleasant. The long range forecast doesn't give us much hope for warmer weather for the next 4 or 5 weeks - just thought I would warn you.

I put a cloche out in the garden at home today to warm the soil up for the first broad beans and peas which are still waiting in the cold greenhouse in their roottrainers.

Westi, it wasn't a website, it was in the paper (Daily Telegraph or Yorkshire Post yesterday??).

It certainly does seem to have been an awfully long winter, i just can't wait for the birds to be singing when i get up in the mornings.
