I can think of so many more that should be banned for the same reasons*. Which are your prime candidates?

I guess the law is the law. However, the customer does have a choice and they can look at the standards for RSPCA approved freedom foods, free range, Organic etc which all seem to be clearly labelled if they are concerned, and choose whatever sits happily with their own particular ideas about animal welfare. My own personal choice was to live without meat, though I respect others differing views It does seem a bit like splitting hairs,
though, when many happily buy what is cheapest without thinking very deeply about animal welfare considerations at all, this is borne out by the sales of so many cheap factory farmed chickens and meat compared to those labelled as freedom foods, free range organic etc.
know your standards / labels....

Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.

Here's my candidate for most misleading; the Bertolli advert: caricature Italians, "harvesting" olives as they are not harvested, and suggesting that Bertolli spread is pure olive oil goodness. No mention of the other 80% of the ingredients:
Bertolli Olive Oil composed of Refined Olive Oils and Virgin Olive Oils, Rapeseed Oil, Water, Whey (from Milk), Vegetable Oils, Buttermilk, Salt (0.8%), Emulsifier: Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Preservative (Potasium Sorbate), Thickener (Sodium Alginate), Citric Acid, Vitamin E, Flavouring, Vitamins A & D, Colour: Carotenes.

Our local pig farm http://www.bowlandpork.co.uk/index.asp? ... eoymaqcatv - I walk past this establishment 2 or 3 times a week and probably see a pig once a year, they are all in a big shed.
Any price comparison site - not only are they appalling adverts so they should be banned on those grounds, what they are selling is not comparison but their commission for pretty dubious services.
To stick with gardening, there are all those inserts in the papers for cheap plants in ludicrous colours often with imaginary names for very common things.
