We have freezing fog too this morning, just to make life easier.

However, the snow has gone, what little we had, so that's a bonus. Everything white with frost though, so it does look pretty, if you stand within 10 yards of it, otherwise it disappears into the mist.

Another very hard frost here again last night. Minus 8.5. We are going to have to defrost another hole in our fish pond again as our fish will be suffering.

Chantal, last year I did the same, used a hot pan to make a hole in the ice
and early next morning found wild boar tracks to the pond. I guess all the wild sources of water were frozen over. Our ducks are splashing aroound in our pond this morning just a little ice still afloat....brrrrrh :)

I hope the weather forecast is right for warmer weather by Friday. It was -11C in the greenhouse just now and the hens' water is frozen solid inside their hut.

I keep the pond pump running all the time when it is freezing like this and it keeps a bit of water clear just underneath the waterfall. I suppose the pump also keeps the water a little bit warmer than it would be otherwise.

Minus 10 here this morning and already minus 7 now, at 5pm, so we'll have another freezing night.

Saw a lovely "snow bow" tonight: the sun was just setting and throwing the last light through a cloud of ice crystals which made an almost circular "snow bow" - very pretty.

Sadly, we also saw a lapwing right at the side of a busy main road, trying to find some food in the gutter, because everything is either frozen hard or covered in snow. I bet it won't survive the rush hour.

-8C this morning and so very beautiful. No snow, but a hoare frost for the second night with a third to come. As it's not rised about -2C during the day, it's getting better every day. I'm out to take some photos when it's daylight. :D :D

In spite of brilliant sunshine, the temperature never rose above -1 today, so it will be another hard frost tonight (-7 last night). But by Friday it should be tropical, 5 degrees!

Walking into our village involves going down 40 steps and they are absolutely lethal! Even being well shod, I slithered about today. As the steps are in the shade and never get the sun on them, no doubt they will stay like this for weeks now, because it's really thick, packed ice.

Went shopping today and as we crossed the Lune at Gressingham at 10:30 the car thermometer claimed -10.5C - the frozen river and hoar frosted bushes were very pretty!
