I have a couple of questions I would like to ask  Is this type of posting allowed or is it going to incur the wrath of the moderators

(1) In my humble opinion the forum is becoming to predictable and sterile :( its turning into a paper tiger looks impressive but it lacks the bite that it once had

(2) Can anyone tell me whats happened to Johnboy or does anyone care enough to ask :(

Regards

Kevin

Kevin, I was asking Elaine about JB the other day. I have his home address here so will send him a little letter down to him. He is one fabulous person, having met him on several occassions.

I have found this site rather dull too to be honest, one of the reasons i've not been posting plus many other personal ones.

Me and Elaine chat all the time via facebook where they have a thriving gardening/allotment community and we certainly have out share of fun and frolicks over there.

Just my thoughts and opinion.
Lots of love

Lizzie

Hi Kevin

Re question 2: Johnboy is out of the country at present on urgent family business. I'm sure he won't mind my revealing that. I know he will appreciate people getting in touch via a PM.

As for question 1: No comment!

It's quiet on other forums as well, but the answer lies in members hands, start some threads, post some replies. :)

I think it is often quieter around this time of year and all the financial doom & gloom is making people a bit subdued as well. :(
Some more frivolous stuff in General Chatter wouldn't hurt.

Well today has been very good on the forum, but i think the biggest problem at the moment is keeping members, we have been losing old and new members alike.

But hopefully things will change, we do have quiet moments on the forum every so often.

As for the theme of the party, i'm was hoping Grockie was going to surprise me. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Naughtier seems such a nice word, i suppose we had better go with that.

Hi Alan,

Thank you for the news about Johnboy very much appreciated :) I had sent him a pm sometime back with no reply hence the concern  so your news is welcome  as for Q1 I hadn't been on-line for sometime and it took a long while to wade through all the posting  :x so i will have to agree with you on this one.

Regards

Kevin

I have to say that I love this forum * - I just don't get enough time to be on it as I would like. I find that if I haven't been on for more than a couple of days I worry that it will take me sooo long to catch up, that I then don't log on.... I spent 2 hours a week or so back catching up! I am enjoying catching up again today and will attempt to stay more regular (excuse me) so that I can keep up and post into active threads!

*my particular likings are the friendliness of all the members and the knowledge that lies within the threads - in that order...
Kind regards,

Elle

I think the trouble is, nothing really stays the same, people come, people go. Recent evidence shows that fiery debate is still around, the planet, the soil, the plants and the environment around us are all precious to most gardeners. Things are going to get contentious from time to time, but there is no need to worry if it doesn't happen very often!! Life is too short to fall out greatly with folk, so yes let's have a party instead

I have at least ten good reasons to need some partying so bring it on!!

I used to pop in a few times every day to see new posts and interesting chat. over the last 18 months, things have slowed down on here so much, that I can leave it for a couple of weeks, and not miss anything.
posting has definitely slowed down, and not just due to the season.

Maybe a little 'sell' in the next edition to invite new members onto
the forum or incorporate some of the 'sister' mags so have one big
forum with lots of topics to dip in and out of?
