Flakkee carrots

Hello everybody, have not posted for ages but would like to share this. Having had very variable results with carrots over the years, a new plot holder reccomended these, the variety seems to be called Flak or Flakkee, depending on the supplier, mine came from Kings seeds. What a crop! Huge, but tender carrots, that also appear to be resistant to the dreaded fly. All of us who tried them this year have had an exellent crop, anybody else tried these?

Flakkee is indeed a very good carrot, though I have not grown carrots fo a good few years now.

For information: it and its name come from Goeree-Overflakkee, an island in the Netherlands.

We grew Flakee (also from Kings) this year and they were huge and tasty but then again so were Autumn King. It seems to have been a good year for carrots for us. I can't comment on carrot fly resistence as we protect ours with enviromesh so haven't had a problem with our other varieties either
