Hi all :D

I have just come back from a break in Cornwall (Newquay) :) while we were there we spotted a most stunning hanging basket 8) filled with what found out to be as Lotus berthelotii (Parrots bill). Since I have been back I have been all over the internet trying to find seeds :evil: no luck as yet :x Can anyone tell me were I could get these seed from I would be grateful of any help with this :)

Hi Kevin,
I suspect that seed is not available because these flowers are propagated by cuttings. You should have nicked a wisp when you were down in Cornwall!

I'm with Johnboy on this one Kevin, a lot of tender perennials are propagated by cuttings.

Hi Kevin. They do set seed but they are self-incompatible, this article explains why, no wonder seed is hard to find.
Maybe a species that used to cause a rupture of the stigmatic cuticle. is now extinct. Yes, pretty plants and attractive foliage. Lovely place for a holiday.

Thank you for your reply's, as for nicking a wisp :oops: No not with my luck I would get caught :shock: plus at the time I did not know how or what type of cutting was required :? I know now(stem cutting) :lol:
Johnboy as for having good time we came back refreshed and chilled as we need it as my eldest son gets married at the end of this month :D 8)
