Happy St David's to you too Alan - no daffodils here yet either but plenty of leeks and leaks!

Greetings to you Alan.
No daffodils here and the leeks are looking very sad indeed.

Certainly no daffodils here either :(

Daffodils are Cennin Pedr and leeks are cennin

I reckon in the past, when winters were generally colder, leeks were more common than daffodils.

As in this picture from 1 March 1957 by the great Welsh photo-journalist Geoff Charles.

The Sun god has been kind to us on our Patron Saints day here in South Wales, wall to wall sunshine since it rose after 7 o'clock this morning and temperature in double figures.
Spent the morning on the allotment and it felt good to have the sun on my back.Image Image

Yes I approve of March so far, long may it continue. Dug one of my beds 10'x28' today and buried 14 barrow loads of very nice compost. Sun shining, Buzzards calling overhead, first Crocus out but like others no sign of Daffodils.
