Evening JB
I"m in agreement with your comments about the Green Lobby.I believe that they are scare-mongers who get on their soapboxes with much-intentioned but ill-informed clap-trap.
A company wants to build a state of the art incinerator here in Cardiff but the "Greens" and their allies are whipping up a storm against it,advocating 100%recycling.
I am for the incinerator. It will be clean, with the exhaust gases scrubbed and the resultant ash and metals recycled. The heat from the process can be used to produce steam to drive turbines to sell electricity to the grid.
The downside is the exhaust emissions from the lorries delivering the rubbish to be burned. This is offset by the fact that it will save land from landfill and now that,in this economic climate, local councils can"t give away their recycled rubbish these days incineration has to be the best option.
But the "Green Lobby" will not accept this argument.
P.S. I"m in favour of nuclear power too.
