hi folks this has got me stumped.
ive 2 ponds in my garden which is land locked.the only water that fills the ponds is the run off from 2 tunnels.
i have 3 large goldfish in 1 of the ponds, also frogs newts and various wildlife.on inspection today it has dozens of little brown fish (minnow type)they range from 1/4 inch upto 2 inches.
questin is what are they and how the heck did they get there

Dear peterf, are you saying that the young fish are in one pond, and the goldfish in the other :?:

hi OH,
sorry should have explained a wee bit better.1 pond has 3 goldfish and numerous wildlife.
the other has 2 goldfish, numerous wildlife and now a dozen or more of these little brown fish.
both ponds are well established (over 6 years)and iv'e never came across this before.there's no stream feed into either pond and as i say the only top up of water comes off the tunnels when it rains.peter

Dear Peter, i think they will turn out to be young goldfish.
If it's anything like my pond, and as long as the young brown fish don't get eaten by something, you will probably find some of he brown fish changing colour as they get bigger.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
