Long lasting cabbage

Help, seem to recall some moons ago of a winter cabbage that when mature could be pulled and hung up, and would last for some six-eight weeks, any ideas as to the name. shallotman

I think you can do it with any of the solid Winter White type cabbages but I'm not sure if it is still sold under that name. Might be Holland Late Winter.
While you are on cabbage I have been well pleased this year with the red Kalibos, got mine from Seeds of Distinction but others have it. Pickles and braises with apple and red onion really well.

talking of cabbage, autumn before last i picked up some cabbage plants at a car boot, they hearted up arround may time , after cutting the heads i left the cross cut stalks in the ground and have just cut 4 tennis ball sized heads from each stalk. told the kids the sprouts were good this year . trouble is i have no idea what variety they were
