I see that groups of 10+ are a bit cheaper. If it were done as the KG gang? Not sure I will have anything homegrown to bring by then - maybe a radish or a half-grown lettuce or a small broad bean pod?

My concern about booking as a group would be someone would have to organise and pay for everyone and then there's the problem that always arises of someone not paying, or saying they'll pay on the day and then not turning up or paying. The discount to my mind is just not worth the hassle as we're spread out all over the country. If we all lived in the same street or used the same allotments it would be different. I think invidual booking would be best.

PMR equals personal mobile radio, which is pocket-sized, easy to use, no licence required, range up to about 2 miles. As different people will be suited on different days then how about a default channel, anybody who reads this can check that one and use it, if other KG members come in then linkups can occur. There are 8x34 different combinations to choose from so the chanxce of clashing with another group is very small.
If nobody else wants to nominate a channel I will state clearly before the event on which channel you will find us.

Does that mean you want us all to go and buy a personal mobile radio?

It's entirely up to you. No obligation to buy if you don't want to join in, probably not sufficient reason just for yourself but if you have a spouse, partner or friend you could find it useful. You might even have an acquaintance who can lend you one for the day.The prices have dropped considerably, you can usually find a pair of them for under £30. If used other than very occasionally rechargeable batteries are worthwhile, we use ours every time we go to the farm as we are often widely seperated, we often forget to switch off after use, with rechargeables it doesn't matter other than the delay in charging again. Look at Maplin online catalogue or do a general search.

Allan

I have enough trouble keeping track of and remembering to charge my mobile phone and the same goes for my partner so no, I'm not going to be investigating this further.

Hello Piglets, I'm making the decision that I'm going on the Sunday as I can't easily do any other day. So, even if the rest of the team go on Saturday, we can still meet up and share a crust. I'm booking my ticket today. :D

Shall we agree on Sunday then? So far it looks like Lyndon and I, Chantal, Johnboy, Mr and Mrs Piglet are definites, possibly Allan and Pam, plus Colin too perhaps?

Don't worry about produce Colin - as long as you can cook, or know someone who can - you're in.

Once we've got a final list, we'll sort out who wants to bring what, plus a time and meeting place. We could do that via PMs, unless we want to make Grock and Lizzie jealous (and hungry)!

You are making me both!!!!!

Can't wait for autumn now. It's something good to look forward to and to plan for.

I want a blow by blow account of the doings when you go.

In autumn we'll probably come down for 2 days. Do the show on one and meet up on the next, plus go back around the food and beer tent again. Grock kept pinching the blackberry whisky last time. That's way she went all funny over her Alan. She was gone.

It would be good if he was there. Just see a Grock rugby tackle him. It could be nasty for the poor sod
Lots of love

Lizzie - do you and Grock want a camping site? Can't offer you a proper B&B 'cos we're unlikely to have completed a full renovation project by then, but we've got enough room for a tent or two, outside loo, inside bathroom and a spectacular breakfast.

Let me know.

Alright you two - I give in !! WHAT ARE YOU LIKE ???

JB - "Jumper Bumps": Was that the phrase you were looking for?!

What can I say, it was THE most fantastic day, and let's hope lots of peeps meet up and have as fantastic time as we did.

Lizzie - you and Grock up for a Truck Picnic at the Autumn one? And JB, I'd be 'honoured' seriously, if you'd join. Lots of space for pre-booking cars into that spesh carpark, which incidentally is close to 'facilities', so we could, lots of us, park 'around each other' and have a big bash at it, god help us......

Anyway, something to think on!
I'll E you two later...

It's happened again, we're running in a parallel universe! What on earth are you lot talking about this time? Jumper Bumps? Thrup Knees?
