Hi all. Just started picking my Victoria Plums, the flesh is great, but the skin is on the bitter side, any suggestions ? Shallotman

Were the fruit sprayed earlier on? If so, washing the skins might help. Otherwise can't think what's causing it unless they're still a little under ripe?

we have a several different plums, (which are never sprayed) bitter skins occur from time to time, maybe its due to the general lack of sunshine this year , if the flesh is soft and the fruits come away easily its time to pick them or they will either start to rot on the tree or fall off.
