peach culprit?

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

i know I should probably have netted my fan-trained peach tree but I am curious to know who might be to blame for three of my six peaches being removed from the tree and left on the path, half eaten. We're not in a particularly squirrely area - so I guess it must be birds. But how do they pick the whole fruit - which is really quite large and take it several feet away? And there are no obvious peck marks in the peach...

yours confusedly...

When you say 'half-eaten' what are the marks on the peach, if as you say they aren't peck marks?
If they're teeth marks, I think you have the culprit!
I'm going to go out and check my apricots, which have reduced to four (huge ones) from and initial setting of about 20. This is the first time the tree's ever given fruit so I'm particularly sentimental about them. I don't want to pick them unripe but the birds are b*gg*rs in my garden.

Dear Jenny, since you only have four huge ones, would it be possible to net the individual peaches.
Just a thought. :)

I didn't think of that. I have some old lady pop sock tights that would do the trick. :D

Only because you have some to spare OH. Bulk purchasing doesn't always pay off. 15 denier are so much more attractive this year.

Didn't you know you're supposed to file your nails smooth before putting them on?
