Another scorcher here today….. making work and allotments a real challenge, trying to keep things alive….having to prioritise what gets watered!

Ditto hot down here, but fortunately the early morning is nicer & 'cool'ish'! Come about 9 o'clock it is just hot & then gets hotter! I got everything very well watered today as in the zone to day dream as caught up on the big chores. Plan was to sort the front beds but too hot without shelter so moved down the back in the shade & tidied up down there.

Actually good timing as the soil was really dry in the closed compost area & not compacted so was really easy to weed so it's all clear to start big jobs to improve the soil, but today I just topped up the small raised beds in that area. We had unwelcome visitors on the plots so it was with trepidation I went down but got lucky as most invasions were in the front rows. Police aware now so hopefully they will stay away. They were caught on the CCTV as well.

Certainly not getting any cooler down here! Quite amusing as the weather report was saying some light rain around 9am......hmm about 1 minutes worth that evaporated immediately off the pavers but spot on 9am! Temp a little lower tomorrow so hopefully will be a bit more comfortable which is handy as I want to do some sows in the beds that I have emptied or the current residents just plain cooked themselves insitu.....like my leek babies!
