Strange not having the forum yesterday, but like OH & everyone else thank you KG team for fixing it!
Yesterday I came to the realisation that I am a fool. Went down early to water & did my usual up & down the paths then the cussing changing to the cans to finish off the unreachable bits. Such an ingrained habit with this routine it was done without thought, until I realised if I threw the hose over the fence rather than go up & down to the little gates it does actually reach the whole plot, just the width & length of the tunnel which I used to go around is about 30' alone. OK took over a decade for me to figure it out....am I an incredibly slow learner or just a creature of habit?

It was way worse before that asking if I'd sign into something called Plesk, so I called the team who were pretty quick on getting that holding message up.

I was asked to login to Plesk also, wondered if it was my machine decided to try later, found the message but couldn't resist taking the pear shaped screen shot. Ever find out what Plesk was, I didn't dare Google?

Nice & quiet down my end of the site while everyone was busy sorting out the Marquee & stuff for the lottie show tomorrow. (My neighbour suggested I was not the best person to help)! I've got nothing to enter, but donated things for the raffle & offered any flowers they wish to take for bouquets for the judges, but don't think I will be going down as Mr has an appointment now so I'd have to take the dog down & I really don't think she would cope with the crowd, as only used to the guys & girls around the plot.
Her unintentionally being a Covid pup has done her no favours & even the girls that trained my other dogs I took her to when restrictions lifted said she would need more psychological input than they could provide. But the impromptu visits from folk on the plot, friends & neighbours visiting at home seem to be making an improvement, but being in amongst 100 or so strangers up close would set her back considerably & might not be safe for them or me.

A good day over the allotment today…..got all the grass cut, so looks nice and tidy for everyone…picked loads of runner beans, they really are cropping heavily now….also started to harvest the beetroot properly, after a very slow start!
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I was trimming the privet cubes and spheres in the big garden front this morning...safer to call them spheres...
and then some long lawn edges too. The lawns are now starting to brown slightly after weeks and weeks of crazy lush growth, which green as it was was good...but not when other jobs build when grass mowing rules the order of day.. Some beech hedge was next..but there was a very wet rain interlude late morning giving rise to early lunch..
Pershore Black plums are ready at home here..and some have just been stewed and decanted into dishes to cool... lot of clusters of rot..but there's still plenty good..given there is a limit to my plum eating ability...and sadly there is no longer a jam production line here these days..

Our climbing beans continue to puzzle us. The French beans are producing by the bowlful and we're giving some away as freezer now full yet our runner beans are full of flowers yet hardly a single beans has grown. So far this summer husband had picked just two badly formed misshapen runner beans.
Haven't been on here for a couple of weeks so wonder if others are having the same experience or if there,,sanything we can do to improve the situation?

Have you tried spraying the foliage with water, Primrose, this can help to set the flowers…..and keeping them well watered also helps in dry weather….just a good soaking every 3 or 4 days, is far better than just giving a little drop every day.
Good to see a post from you, Primrose. x

My plot is in a mess compared to what I usually have it at this time of the year my right knee is giving me jip I can manage about half an hour then it kicks off I had a cautazone (spelt wrong) about 6 weeks ago it was great for around 2 weeks then slowly back to the way it usually is, two weeks ago I had an appointment with the specialist who did my left knee it was the 12 month assessment but in reality it’s been 16 months he told me if I wanted my right knee doing don’t have anymore injections says it’s bad for my knee didn’t say why so I have a decision to make sorry for the ( spelling mistakes ) so my allotment stays roughly as it is although I’ve managed to renew the steel arch I pass under on my way onto my plot yesterday I planted.a wisteria on one side of the arch the other side I’m fighting a wild rose mixed in with an honeysuckle how the rose got there I’m at a loss my wife used to look after the borders now I’m looking to have my bath removed and have a walk in shower fitted I think it’s the price of growing old ,if anyone has had both their knees replaced can you pm me to how you fared after the operation

It won't be any different from when you had your left knee done Robo, in fact probably easier as you know the drill post surgery re; exercise etc. Your left knee is now technically fixed so can support your weight etc. Deffo consider getting your home adjustments done now Robo, walk in shower & proper higher loo, rails etc. It gets no cheaper while you wait, & chat to your therapist as financial help is available for some folk.
We are just waiting on a quote to get the garage modified for Mr. Our house can not be modified to accommodate a wheelchair shower & proper loo etc. as just too small. The government will pay for all the shower/bath room facilities including tiles to that area as he is registered disabled, which is a massive saving, so means we can afford to add on a bed room for him & a man cave area for his hobbies so he will have some independence, privacy & won't scrape the skin off his knuckles getting through the door or the NHS ramp collapsing! We can't just build out the back as the main drains are there & the garage structure is existing so neighbours can't complain! (Bet one tries though)!

I’ve not had a knee done personally but several of my clients have and the majority have done wonderfully post surgery. Only one that has struggled with pain afterwards.
Best wishes whatever you decide to do.

IF you look at today's housing stock you realise how few of them were designed or built with the longevity of their potential occupants in mind, ie no wide doors, no downstairs toilets etc . I do hope that the government and local councils will bear this mind when designing the thousands of new houses they build in the future. People are living longer, becoming more disabled as they age and eventually many of today,s houses will need to accommodate those who have become disabled while living in them. T is much less disruptive for people to be able to make minor alterations to existing properties than to have to move home.
