Geoff, I love the look of your flowers with the big purple heads. Some sort of allium, I assume. Are those flowers edible? They kinda look like giant chive flowers and they're delicious on things such as scrambled egg.

Love seeing everybodys' flowers. My husband once commented to me " "you don,t seem the slightest bit interested in peoples' houses and furniture etc but you,re SO nosey about their gardens!!
Quite right because I reckon that,s where their souls live !,! Houses are just "stuff" but if if you have a gardening area and grow plants of any kind there,s always hope and anticipation. (And slugs and other challenges to keep you constantly alert and engaged).

No secret that I know off. Bought them at a plant fair a couple of years ago and potted them up fairly richly. They are the evergreen type that aren't quite so hardy so we take the pot under cover, not heated, for the Winter. It is fed weekly with tomato type liquid feed. The border below has the ordinary blue ones in it that have flowered well for many years but this year for the first time we have had hardly any flowers, we are putting down to the hard frosts.
