Whatever you may have thought about geese, they are as tame and friendly as anything if you talk to them and stroke them as they are growing up.

An old cheerful neighbour used to say as soon as the solstice was over "it's all downhill to Christmas", as the weather thinks it's Autumn perhaps we should pop this in the old man's hat.
