I have been intrigued by the sub-headings for gardening magazines:

Kitchen Garden - The UK's best-selling growing your own magazine
Grow Your Own - The UK's best-selling kitchen garden magazine (in my opinion, not a patch on KG, by the way!)
Gardeners' World - The UK's No.1 gardening magazine
Garden News - The UK's No.1 gardening weekly

Anybody getting Garden Answers? I wonder what they claim.

Lies, damned lies and statistics! They are probably all true but each according to a different set of mrasurement criteria.

I expect it is all down to which award they won, from whom and in which year....

I love the way KG is using the competitors 'grow your own' sub title & they are using 'kitchen garden' sub title? Totally agree with you as to the best mag of the two btw!

I thought those cross-references were odd or spooky.

They all must tiptoe past ASA offices. It's like searching for stuff on eBay when you get three hits at different prices that all say "cheapest on the web".
