New composting bins

Our allotment compost area was built from old galvanised, corrugated panels and hardwood doors. it was sectioned off into 4, and each section we could plonk another door on top to keep the rain off. Our compost was pretty good, lovely and crumbly, not too wet or dry, just right.

I top the heaps off with cardboard, which will rot down, with a pallet on top to provide a bit of pressure.
I like the idea of insulating them, I wonder where I can scrounge something (a trip to the tip maybe).

I'm sure you're probably right Stephen. I don't know whether you ever actually get worms appearing in a black plastic leaf containing bag and they must surely help to speed up the composting process.
