Pa, you're an example to all of us. None of us knows what's round the corner for us or our loved ones, if it isnt there already. Please hang around and continue to inspire!

Thinking of you, Pa, and of the many expert, useful and humorous comments you've made over the years. Here's to a few more yet!

A very brave decision Pa. It certainly inspires me because my radiotherapy was stopped, two weeks ago, after seven treatments as it was deemed too dangerous in an area where I have recently had major surgery. Infact I now feel so well that I find it hard to believe that I have cancer. I hope your energy levels now improve. Thanks for all your contributions and although I don't join in much I certainly appreciate your offerings, including your humour. I wish you all the best.
Regards,
Gerry.

We had an appointment with the specialist today for my wife's latest scan ,it's not good news we get told she has shadows on her lungs we could find very little out apart from its more than one shadow and her case will be discussed next week at a meeting of the specialist

Sorry to hear that robo, lets hope the consultant meeting will have a solution that is not too evasive!

Everyone on here probably knows someone who is affected or will be at some point & Pa's honesty about his alien has allowed others to share their journey supporting, hoping, worrying, all while being eaten up inside - well before Pa, now we have a little bit of humour as well to distract & 'normalise' life! Not supporting his jokes - many were cringe worthy! Don't sulk Pa, some were truly clever!

I,ve always believed that a trouble shared is a trouble halved and it seems that a fair proportion of our forum members are either suffering in this respect or have loved ones who are. There are a lot of parallel journeys being shared and in my view that is a good thing. I think in the past the "stiff upper lip" attitude has caused a lot of emotional stress for people at difficult times, which has made their suffering harder, not easier, to cope with.

Once again thank you for your support

My approach to this forum, and others I have joined over the years, has always been to play on words or twist meanings whenever the opportunity has arisen. I have always been described as having a warped sense of humour. Many a practical joke has been played on friends and neighbours and work colleagues over the years

My attitude has always been that if I can produce a Laugh or a Smile, even a Groan or a Grimace then my job is done.
Hopefully somebodies thoughts of their own troubles has been eased, if only for a short while sometimes.

Not everyone likes my humour, but to those who dont I will quote one of Catherine Tates fictional characters " Am I bovvered"
If my pathetic efforts help make the subject of terminal illness and even death a more open, less taboo subject I will have served a purpose.

The more we discuss the benefical effects our garden and allotment labours can have upon our health the greater our wellbeing

Best wishes and improved / good health to each and every one of you and yours.

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

You remind me of Spike Milligan. I hope you live the rest of your life in the way you choose.

Thanks Ron.

Fortunately I have never suffered from the issues that Spike did. Conversely, sadly I never had a fraction of his talent either.

Like him though "I told you I was ill" :D
