Step 1 - get your image
Any image you like, however, there is a catch, it has to be 120*120px... and less than 125kb (thats really small... But if you use JPEG and medium quality in photoshop it should fit) If you want any help with this, please feel free to PM me (the speech bubbles in the contact menu under my avatar) and let me know. I'll happily edit an image to help, or throw you something new together in my spare time :)

Step 2 - Find the profile setting
This is the most complicated step, and the one that may change if the forum changes again (hopefully not for a while now)
first, on any page on the forum find your user profile (top right), here's a picture to help if you're stuck

and it looks like a little person

Once there, select profile and then edit avatar, again a picture to help if needed

This is a very helpful post for those who might like to show an avatar picture but were not sure how to do so. Nice and clear instructions with great use of arrows.

Good one Dan

Just one thing to add in respect of avatar size, apart from the maximum physical size of 120 pixels x 120 pixels the picture you wish to upload as your avatar should be no bigger than 125kb

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

Thanks Dan. Really helpful. I've tried to add an avatar several times, however can't reduce it to a small enough size - 125kb limit really is very small. I'll try again.
