Hello

The default avatar was a question mark if you haven't uploaded a picture, or specified your gender!

I've changed it now, refresh a few times and you should see the question mark disappear!

With all this spamming going on now is not the time to be worrying about sex :D

I also am in agreement with Fred - Also, with the old layout I found it far easier to look at the topic title and the date of the most recent posting at a glance, as they were far closer together"

Glad to know I'm not the only one who dislikes that part of the 'improvement'.

I take Peter's comment on board that there was a problem behind the scenes, and am pleased if the upgrade has sorted that bit out.

What does anyone else think of the new colour scheme? (Note to self - find sunglasses.)

There seems to be at least two threads going discussing this subject plus one locked one. Some have answered the question of colour and other 'dislikes' on one or the other thread. Most describe the colour as garish. Don't think I have seen anyone speak in its favour.

This is where I play devils advocate, we have been told its work in progress and yes we have been asked opinions but there seems little point to me in us banging on about the same thing time after time to the point where we repeat ourselves. Lets give them a chance to sort it out.

With some of the comparisons being made between old and new forum layout I am beginning to wonder if I was looking at the same old forum board as others.

Thanks for removing the large question marks, Peter, it looks much more pleasant now. I am not clever enough to add an avatar or photos.

Hi Monika I have still got a ? next to my name. I also don't know how to do an avatar so it looks like I will have to live with it.

Catherine, If you want an avitar making, I can make it, and then talk you through setting it if you like? In fact, I'm just making my self one (finally got an evening without my little girl jumping on me) so I can even do screenshots of how to upload it :)

--edit--

Same goes for you monica,

Just noticed this. There was a massive vulnerability in the old PHPBB software that many forums fun on (including this one) which allowed hackers to access a lot of information (like IP address, which can be worked down to a post code area if you know how) and any PM's you've sent and recived. Unfortunately, when the guys who maintain PHPBB fixed it, they messed up a pile of other stuff, meaning a lot of older things didnt work... Sounds like thats what happened here

how do I know this? I maintain a forum myself, and had the same issue, Luckily, since I'd made the theme myself, most my stuff still worked
