I've just finished off a pack of 200 x Jiffy peat pellets and ordered another bag...

...when we stagger home having shoveled several tons of muck at the allotment, liberally covered in the stuff, aching, wet and cold and then tell each other what a wonderful day we've had

... getting over excited when the first seeds of the year go in, and the second lot, and the third lot, and...

You know you have the gardening bug :-

When you spend more time than normal looking for the product that someone suggested would help you without harming any of the other good bugs.

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

When you wake the person that you are in bed with, really early in the morning saying," I'm really excited.... the manure is arriving this morning" :)

I do so sympathise with you, OH: I love the smell of manure (I know, quite perverse) and when I saw last year that the allotments in our neighbouring village get their manure delivered by the fore-end loader full at the side of each plot, I was so, so jealous ....

Yes, that's when I know I've got the gardening bug ...

You know you've got the gardening bug when...

You've packed up your gear to go home from the allotment and you just have to stand there taking a last good look at what you've done like it was the Sistine Chapel...
