Hello Alan
Turn off the telly and the radio then cancel the paper. Ask your postie not to deliver any leaflets.
And as OH says stay on the forum - where I hope the mods will soon ban all election talk.

And don't answer the door Alan - they'll be out in force canvassing!

Don't labour under any illusions, this forum may have a conservative approach to gardening, but, it can be very liberal with the manure and likes its initial thoughts to be fairly democratic.

Anyway lets keep to being green, but in a plant sense please.

My suggestion to all is that you kip throughout the whole procedure.

We have a sign on our front door, largely ignored, that states amongst other things

*We do not want redemption from our sins (we enjoy them)
*We do not discuss politics

Despite the sign we recently had someone trying to tell us the benefits of eating brown bread,

we think they were Hovis witnesses.

At election time politicians dangle carrots to obtain your vote

(yes, very corny I know :) )

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.

I recently enjoyed a 30 minute discussion with two (very pleasant) Jehovahs Witnesses. I argued from a confirmed atheist viewpoint and the verbally exhausted couple finally gave in and promised to seek redemption. But I think they were just trying to get away from me.

Ey up John....oh that made me laugh, It reminds me of the time a couple of Witnesses backed off down my front path, almost making the sign of the cross, after I had said I equated the Bible with Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm.....

We had had a very nice discussion prior to that....

I wonder if that would work with election canvassers??

Ohh....I forgot...we never have canvassers from any party. around here...

We're too far out for canvassers as well...we do get J W's though, have to give them full marks for endurance...

One of my teenage sons once opened the door to them wearing nothing but his underpants and a smile, didn't see them for a while after that.
