Sunday was completely gorgeous weather here in the bluebell Forests of Dean, and huge progress made in the 'outside the back door' kitchen garden....
MOSTLY planting out 'Romanesco'caulis, black tuscan kales and swedes, and persuading my cat NOT to make camp under the environmesh that covered them......
which of course made it an even BIGGER game to her !

Other than that, it was harvesting the tail ends of elderly next door's perpetual spinach and leeks (with his permission, of course !), accepting some Runner Bean Seeds from him, and giving him new Leaf Beet seedlings and Pepper Seedlings in exchange.

And listening to his 'stories' again....
Even though I've heard them before.
And I knew the ending 'last time' !

THAT'S what I love about it all....
TODAY... MOSTLY, I WILL BE TALKING TO MY NEIGHBOUR.

Did you realise how fablious this topic was when you first thought it up? Good on you. You've got my vote....
Kindest regards,
Wellie

Compo,
I don't 'DO' glossing....!
I 'DO' completely everything else on the planet, but I cannot STAND 'glossing'.
Does that about cover it ?!
No help from me I'm afraid....

not very much cos it's too bloody hot 8)

I took the lollipop man round the allotments for a tour as he's thinking of getting one, and I was sweating like a priest in a brothel  . The sky is bright blue, cloudless and the sun is fierce.

I think we may be in for a long, hot summer this year. Will get the water butts filled, just in case.

What's it like everywhere else?
Lots of love

Boiling - can't wait to get home, out of this suit and into some scruffy shorts and a less than decent t-shirt. I like Thursdays 'cos we have an early dinner so that OH can get out to play Bridge in good time and I can play (whoops - I meant work) in my garden all evening 'til it's dark. Then it's a shower and a couple of glasses of wine in front Great Food Live.

Bliss. :)

You lucky monkeys,

I spend most of the day in bed (as working nights) but not sleeping as I have a tusk with an exposed nerve that thankfully is being pulled tommorow afternoon. On my way home this morning though I managed to plant out a bed of tomatoes and wrap them in fleece and start to earth up our tatties which are now comimg through with avengence.
Kindest regards Piglet

Do piglets have fairies that deliver sixpences in exchange for teeth?

Yes indeed we do but they deliver chocolate tokens instead.

Deep sympathy Piglet, hope you don't suffer from the effects of the anaesthetic, or after it's worn off :( . I've had two root canal and crownings in the last year; it is bliss to be pain free and able to chew anywhere in my mouth :) , so at least you have that to look forward to.

My sympathies Piglet. I'm on my 6th lot of antibiotics for a tooth abcess. Dentist can't pull it till the abcess has gone and the bloody thing wont go  As soon as peggie is pulled, Lizzie will be feeling groovy again.

It not nice having a sore tusk. Have you tried rubbing chillie on it?

You're so brave Piglet. I can put up with most things, but I still have to be escorted to the dentist by the OH and closely supervised whilst there.

I have, in the not so distant past, escaped through the toilet window. I have also 'shinned' the Dentist - who happens to be a friend - when he came near me. I can't count the number of times I've been back to apologise for my behaviour and the inappropriate language that can be heard around the building.

To make matters worse - OH is one of those who can transport his mind off to a sunny beach whilst enduring anything remotely painful. He doesn't have any anaesthetic and he only shouts if the (same) dentist gets his beard caught up in the clamp.

I go, religiously, every 6 months because I'm terrified of losing my teeth. After each visit I'm practically evangelical about it.

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

You're like me Tigger. I'd rather have major surgery. In the past i've had valium to get me through the front door of the dentist. I've also been kicked off a dentists list cos I kicked him in the face when he touched a nerve.

I now use relaxation exercises so am not so bad. I do like you OH does, take myself off to a beautiful place and stay there for the duration.

Plus, common sense hit home cos it's better to have the thing seen to instead of it causing you pain.

Sending my favourite Porky Person a big cuddle. And, if he's a brave Piglet, i'll send you a Brave Soldier sticker and a sugar free lollypop.

Little me, 6'1" and 19 stone odd has to take valium to have injections.

Needle phobia does not describe it, I'm brave, I go, they inject, I go faint and very pale, or throw up, they say p*** off we can't work on you in that state, so I've wasted my time.

Valium is great, I feel no different, I just don't get the reaction. :D
