Cabbage root fly

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

I planted some cabbage plants in my raised bed (3ft) a couple of weeks ago. They are all looking splendid, but I suddenly realised that root fly might be a problem. Am I too late to put pads around the stems? If so is there any alternative. I do try and be organic.[/b]

Hi,
As far as I am aware the most dangerous time is when the cow parlsey is in flower, round here it is just about now. I would put collars on and hope for the best.
Good luck

Thank you Hilary. Will do and see what happens.
