Just had an email from my local nursery telling me that their Xmas Dept is now open.

No, you're getting confused with breaking wind in a lift.

I recently saw an advert on TV for something related to the Festive Season....should be against the law or something. I really dislike the fact that xmas stuff comes out earlier every year. :x

And the next one of my Facebook friends who posts how many days to Christmas, will be deleted.....

When I saw this thread title I thought it was a weather comment.

Tonight:
Any lingering showers will fade away leaving a dry, clear and unseasonably cold night. This could lead to a grass frost in prone rural spots. Minimum Temperature 3 °C.

I'm potting my Christmas Hyacinths up for forcing, but they are for pleasant thoughts to come, and will be soon be fogotten about until such time.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

And the other thing that gets earlier every year is people complaining how Christmas gets earlier every year! Should be a law against it

I was wondering why ground frost has recently changed to grass frost?

It hasn't really. Let the Met Office reply -

Whatever happened to the pleasure of enjoying each season as it comes along? As I start getting older I get quite resentful at all these commercial organisations trying to encourage me to wish my life away. It's passing quickly enough of it's own volition thank you very much! I don't need any help, :(

My sentiments exactly Primrose.

I must admit to being grumpy about Christmas because I just don't like it. I don't know why, nothing awful happened around that time of year to make me dread it but I do. My heart sinks as all the hype increases and all the lovers of the season talk of little else.
I do suffer from S.A.D so that may explain it to some degree. I could quite happily hibernate from November to 1st January!

Thanks for the frost info. As I thought it is just the weather forecast presenters being pedantic and it is ground frost except on warm surfaces.

I am sick of the months of commercialism before Christmas and other seasonal holidays. It was far more enjoyable and exciting for children when it wasn't mentioned until the beginning of December and Easter eggs weren't on sale straight after Christmas.

I feel like ignoring everything just to be awkward

Just a reminder: Christmas Day
is just four months away!
