hi all, I'm a new user.
I would like to know your own opinion on the best types of olive trees to produce (small amount) of extra virgin olive oil.
I have a house in Tuscany for holidays; and it is where I want to plant olive trees.
Thank you for your help.
best olive trees

I would have thought a local supplier in Tuscany would be your best bet. I don't know anyone that grows Olives for the oil.
Best of luck.
Beryl.

there are millions around us in spain a lot are grown for the table theres are usually small trees up to 2.4 meters high, all the ones grown for oil in our village are pressed locally then transported to Italy, Tuscany to be precise then bottled and sold as extra virgin Italian oil, please don think I am trying to be awkward it is the truth, the tankers the oil is transported in are all plain unmarked
robo, I understand what you mean: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/01/24/opinion/food-chains-extra-virgin-suicide.html?_r=0
I found the description of various cultivars are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_olive_cultivars
But I wanted the Italian cultivars. here's something with the characteristics and features. They are reliable in your opinion?
