sugar spray to help pollination

have just read this tip in a book... half a cup of sugar boiled, then added to a galleon of water and sprayed over your strawberries attracts loads of bees and results in a bumper crop! Any comments anyone!?

Hi Helen,
Yes I have a comment. Do not use this method unless you want to attract Ants to your crop. Bees will find Strawberry flower easily enough without the spray.
