Thank you all for the smiles. :)

Even using only one hand. cook is still twice the cook that i ever could be, but i will help out with any jobs that need doing, especially with the tasting. :)

The cuts do seem to have joined together well, so she will just have to try and not knock them, easier said than done, i know.

I have taken some of the heavier jobs of her job list, cleaning the gutters out and sweeping the drive. I did tell her it was alright to do them after Christmas. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

You and cook have my sympathies. Had to take the wife down to local surgery a year or so ago with hand above her head swathed in kitchen roll after a similar encounter with our blitzer as we call it. I think (I hope) she is now very careful to switch off at the plug before sorting out jams, they really are lethal weapons. They just dressed her hand, no stitches, healed perfectly, something to do with clean cuts.

Was going to make a comment about finger foods but thought that this might be a touchy subject :D

Glad cook wasn't more seriously hurt.

At least the BBC is screening an appropriately named seasonal programme this year - "Pointless Celebrities".

Another very wet day again. I managed to get all the veg needed for Christmas yesterday, although it was like digging them out of a pond in places :(

Went to Waitrose first thing this morning for the last of the shopping. I made sure I sorted out a trolley with nice wheels before sending the good lady off around the aisles, while I rested in the cafe with coffee, bacon roll, and the morning papers :D
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

Gosh. listening to the news, if i venture into Wales with my wheelbarrow i better be careful how i park, or i might get a £70 fine if i park more than19 inches from the kerb. :)

Glad they reported it in inches...

Round here 50 cm (over 19 inches) from the kerb is pretty much in the middle of the road

Can't understand the media fuss myself, more the six inches off the kerb is inconsiderate of other road users.

Wish they'd fine all the people round here who think verges and pavements are parking areas and those who think fire engines & ambulances can fit through a slalom of alternate side parking that challenges a Fiat 500.
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.

Had a free postage offer from Thompson & Morgan. Handy I thought, and ordered some potato sets, confirmation of my order came from Van Meuwen. Funny I thought, but emailed them to say No substitutes, was told they couldn't guarantee this but would send the nearest. Am now in the process of cancelling order. :?
