Weedkillers and potato tubers

On our allotment, we had blight early and most people cut the tops off of their potatoes.

My neighbour then came under sustained attack by weeds and sprayed the area where his potatoes were still underground with Roundup.

What he wants to know is if it is still all right to dig up the potatoes and eat them. What do you think?

Johnboy will probably answer, but isn't that what is commonly done commercially?

On wheat yes, potatoes I think it was dilute acid.
if there was no foliage to absorb the glyphosate then it will have hit the soil and been deactivated.

Hi Barry,
I think Peter has hit the nail on the head. No green no problem!
