I will probably regret posting this but I have been keeping a close eye on my Broad Beans for the first sign of Blackfly, but I can't find a single one and the plants are developing very nicely after the initial Bean weevil attacks. The pods could probably be used whole but I will probably wait until the beans are big enough.

The same here Colin! I always get infested no matter how close I monitor & all the pinching out the soft tops never really works! This year I don't seem to have the really soft fleshy tops, for some reason even the smaller leaves at the top are quite corse so that might be it, but it's the usual variety so just a fluke I think.
