Lily beetle

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

Just found, and squished, a lily beetle on my lilies. Is this early for them to be around?

No, I haven't either. My lilies are only just poking out of the ground so it must have been a very adventurous beetle.

May be the start of problems to come after the very mild winter.

The adult beetles overwinter, they come out as soon as it is warm enough for them
