Scab on Kestrel

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

We harvested our Kestrel potatoes on the allotment yesterday - pretty decent yield, some very large potatoes BUT most of them covered in scab!! The ground was last limed two years ago and our soil is not too light so I presume it was the very dry weather when they were first planted. The Sante in the next row are completely clear of scab, so Kestrel must be particularly susceptible.

I think I might avoid Kestrel next year.

Dear Monika, my Kestrel have come up the same as yours. I have never had this trouble before with Kestrel so, i was wondering, as a lot of my early potaoes were coming up with those white sweat spots on them, i'm just wondering if this might be linked and have caused it!

I'll still be growing them next year, as we had some roasties with them last night, and they were first class.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
