Evening Grock,
Never grown a Parterre but one of the lads on the allotment did as an experiment to protect herbs. He reckoned on about two years to establish it.
He propagated his own plants from cuttings taken in August and planted out the following April in position keeping moist and weed-free.He bought a small plant and let it grow out to use for cuttings.
Hope this helps.
