deep snow
the teazles wear
white busbies
snow storm
outdoor cat becomes
indoor cat
mini-snow-storm
at the bird table
...starlings
blizzard rages
I pick extra chilli
to toss in the soup.

Sit down before a fact as a little child, be prepared to give up every preconcieved notion, follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.

Lovely. Here's one, not a haiku
Turned Page
if I start with soil
and the random pull of the sun
the hours lost
would have a root
a truth
the glisten of rain
solemnity
potential
in my weight
behind the spade’s edge
promise
in the lilt of a cabbage white
in the dark corners
of the compost heap
if I could start with soil
till the hours
clean open
there would be poetry
