Looks as if we are in for a cold blast again, that will teach me to have tried Autumn sown broad beans again. :)

Dear Elle, we haven't had a good hailstorm for i don't know how long, now is that tempting fate, or what. :)

We have just had a covering of snow here too.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

What was quite remarkable was that while I watched it from indoors at my parents house, my husband was outside and got caught and my eldest son was walking back from his school church service 6 miles away and he got soaked too!
Kind regards,

Elle

Dear Elle, they both must have been froze through!

Hope you didn't tell them, you had been standing in the warm watching it. :)

Snowing here as well, but not laying yet :)

We had a hailstorm on our last day in Uganda. It was coming straight through the roof of the restaurant
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

Just turned on the computer to look at several weather sites to see what's in store for the weekend - doesn't look too bad for us until Saturday evening. At the moment it's very clear and freezing (- 5 so far). That should give the vegetable garden at home anther good freezing, break down the clods and kill a few bugs.

Good luck to everybody who might be badly affected by the wintry weather!

Looks like the west is in for the worst this time round.

Even in tropical Chwilog we have a good two inch covering this morning. Starry skies, but more snow promised for today and tomorrow.

edit: Correction - just been out and it's more like three inches and snowing again.

Rain turned to snow then hail yesterday afternoon...enough to just whiten things...then it froze hard at work leaving time...leaving all a sheet of ice.

-4.3 currently....and I see that the path outside the back door has freeze dried.

I visited the barbers shop on the way home from work yesterday...need to find my best woolly hat this morning.

Warm this am . Only -4C. Nice running weather.

Hail but no snow. As it has been dry, not much ice so firm underfoot...

Bit colder forecast though... Will it beat last year's -19C?

We've had a weather forecast of freezing cold today but clear blue skies and sunshine.

We're in the middle of a blizzard.

Last night I dropped my lad off at his girlfriends house at 16:30 and it was snowing, by 20:45 when I went out to pick him up the car was glazed and snow-dusted.

This morning it was -5C at 08:00 and sheet ice anywhere not gritted, as well as all the verges and roadside gutters being frozen.

Right now the sky has darkened and the snow has started.
