I received the following email and thought maybe some of you might be interested in taking part.

During the past few months we have received an email from you expressing
your interest in our many gardening programmes.

ME & MY GARDEN is a new programme we are producing for the BBC and are
looking for people to take part in the programme. We are looking for people
to appear in the programme giving us their gardening and/or allotment hints
and tips. Don't be concerned that your hint/tip will be suggested by someone
else, we would rather receive the same hint/tip several times than not
receive it.

Filming will take place from March until April. You will also receive a copy
of the completed series as a gift, this should be available around August
this year. Filming will take no longer than a few hours and we would require
to film you demonstrating your hint/tip at your gardening or allotment.

You can appear in as many programmes as you have hints/tips for. So whether
its just one or several hints/tips we would like to hear them. Feel free to
tell all your gardening and allotment friends of our appeal and feel free to
pass this email and our email address onto your friends.

We look forward to hearing from you with your hints and tips.

What do you think?
To me it seems just the same old 'bitty' sort of programme yet again, not really looking at the concept of each garden as a whole.I have recently taken out a 6 months subscription to Garden Answers, when I saw the first copy I knew I wouldn't be renewing, it suffers from the same trouble. It may be good cheap entertainment to make but too trivial for me.

Allan, why didn't you have a look at Garden Answers in the newsagent before taking out a subscription?

Whatever the quality of the programme, how are they going to film tips only in March and April? Great if your tip is about sowing, but what about things that happen later in the season? Do these people know anything about gardening (or seasons)?

My feelings entirely Fen but I thought a few views aired on TKG they might just see it and realise.
Why don't they talk to gardeners first?

Chantal. I came across some back copies that I bought at a Malvern show several years ago, at cut price including free seeds, So many good ideas I couldn't throw them out. The current one is all gloss and ornamentals, no substance particularly for the mature veggie grower of many years experience but still learning.Still 5 issues to go, there may yet be a gem of info to justify the cost.
I too woundered how they were going to get tips at this time of year. There's always Australia!

Surely you should be able to remember stuff that you do beyond March and April??!!? They're probably only filming people not the action!

It has to be said that i'm known as a bit of a pyromaniac on the plots. When I was left in charge of an industrial weed flame thrower, someone said that it was like leaving Dracula in charge of a blood bank.

Piglet and I are DEFINITELY pyromaniacs, and what's more, we both take days off work on the first Wednesday of the month which is our allotment site's "bonfire day"! We love it. Sad or what!
